Specifications

The mast and arms are made from powder coated

aluminium that resists peeling and rusting. The lower part

of the mast is reinforced with a strong internal pipe section.

The longer corner roof arms are also reinforced internally for extra strength. All joints are manufactured using stainless steel.

All of the Winchester umbrellas open with a crank level operation that is exceptionally strong and vandal resistant. The central telescopic mast system is designed to allow even the largest of umbrellas to close above table height without causing disturbance.

The Winchester has passed extensive load & rigidity

tests and are certified by TUV/SUD.

For areas off excessive high winds, Uhlmann manufacture a range called the 'Strong Wind' which has been tested to wind speeds in excess of 100kms

Supports and Fittings

There are two choices of support fittings - either a permanent

in-ground base or mobile base.

The Permanent fitting is recommended and can either be via an IN-GROUND SLEEVE or a BASE PLATE. The in-ground sleeve consists of two parts - the base which sits beneath ground and the pole section which is above ground and incorporate a clamp to hold the umbrella in place. It also has an adjustment screw to provide absolute vertical stability.

Both of these parts are hot tipped galvanised. The base plate screws into a concrete pad and has a hinged pole section attached to take the mast of the umbrella.

The MOBILE BASE consists of a fully galvanised welded steel frame that hold a minimum of four standard 50cm square paving slabs. The four corners of the base are individually and easily adjusted to eliminate the possible unevenness of the ground.

Canopy Fabric & Colours

Our umbrellas are covered with the highest quality materials to stand up against harsh weather conditions for many years. They are available in a wide variety of attractive colours and textures to match and compliment any setting. The fabrics have excellent shape stability (no stretching or shrinking) and have excellent resistance to wind tear-out and fading. The fabrics absorb no moisture and with our special sewing technology it is possible it to make waterproof coverings. They repel dirt, but are also washable and low maintenance.

Our most popular covering materials are Dolan™, a heavier acrylic material, and AIRTEX™, a light weight polyester material that is widely used in Europe for its excellent characteristics.

Integrated Heat & Lights

Integrated internal wiring can be supplied with all sizes of umbrellas to allow the fitting of heaters and lights. The power connection is via an industrial plug at the base of the mast or inside the ground sleeve.

The infrared heaters we use are safe, small but highly efficient. When not in use, the heaters can be folded flat against the mast.

The lights are installed on the mast for the smaller umbrellas and on the arms for larger umbrellas.

Guttering & Side Sheets

The gutters are manufactured to provide a fall to ensure good drainage and are attached to the umbrellas by means of snap hooks. They can be used to connect adjacent umbrellas or to connect an umbrella to a building.

It is strongly recommended that the umbrellas have valances fitted to the canopies if gutters are going to be used as the helps the flow of water into the guttering.

Side sheets are available for all sizes of square and rectangular umbrellas. These can come with or without  transparent window sections. Door sections can also be included that roll up when in use.

Printing

Printing is available on either the top of the umbrella

or the valance or a combination of the two areas.
